Here is a list of the flat fee financial advisors that I have heard of, categorized by state.
But before you crack into it…
By the way, in no way does this serve as a recommendation to do business with any of these people listed below. Please conduct your own diligence. I did cursory research but did not verify by their ADV in all cases.
Now, it’s getting late and my eyelids are starting to droop, so I didn’t confirm by ADV for all the people on this list to see if they are pure, flat fee advisors (meeting the definition articulated prior in this blog) or if they give clients the option to pay an AUM fee or a flat fee (the latter not being the definition of flat fee advisor in its purest form).
This list may change; there is no guarantee these advisors will always charge a flat fee in the future. And lastly, by no means would I claim this list to be comprehensive – it’s likely there are flat fee financial advisors I left off inadvertently.
Please note that some of these flat fee advisors in certain states such as FL, VI, OR, and IL) are required to maintain an insurance license purely to advise, not sell but advise, clients on insurance decisions.
Alright, without further ado here is the flat fee advisor list broken out by state.

Please understand that this is not an endorsement of any particular company. Please conduct your own due diligence and come to your own decision. Also, I am under no obligation to update this list and the conditions of service offered by these firms may change over time without being reflected here. Although nobody paid me to be on this list, from time to time I may have a business relationship involving the sale of goods and services with the firms on this list.
I can’t say it enough – you have to do your own research. This is not an endorsement of anyone mentioned here, and situations could change and not be reflected here in this blog. Also, there is selection bias inherent in this list. I did not interview all the hundreds of thousands of advisors out there, I conducted research using Google, consulted with my network, and posted on social media. So this is limited to what I had access to given my resources. Again, conduct your own research; this list of low fee advisors is intended to be a starting point but by no means is it exhaustive or conclusive.
